Permission To EAT
To start, I seek to understand one’s background, health history, daily routines and various environments to best support any recommended food and dietary changes. I aim to collaborate with family, therapists, doctors and other health professionals to ensure comprehensive care. My intention is to teach and guide one towards an intuitive and balanced nutrition approach so they can have the confidence beyond our time together.
The phrase, “it takes a village” couldn’t be more true and I can only hope to be a part of your village.
Meet Lindsay
Hi! I am Lindsay Ford, MS, RD. Thanks for stopping by and and taking time out of your busy life. I have been a Registered Dietitian for over ten years and here is a little bit about me:
I was raised in what some say is the heart of it all, the great state of Ohio. I landed at Ball State University to play Division I soccer and pursued an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science.
My experiences as a collegiate athlete inspired me to pursue the field of nutrition. I received my Master’s Degree in Nutrition and completed my Dietetic Internship in 2012.
Following schooling, I moved to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. I worked as a Registered Dietitian and Certified Wellness Coach for three years at Hilton Head Health. There, I was able to work with hundreds of guests that had spent years and years dieting and weight cycling. The Blue Ridge Mountains eventually called my family’s name, and I began working at a residential eating disorder facility located in Brevard, North Carolina. This position gave me intensive experience working with eating disorders - everything from anorexia nervosa to binge-eating disorder. I worked with adults, adolescents and families.
After gaining valuable experience in the eating disorder realm, I was brought on to eventually become the Director of Nutrition for Skyterra Wellness. I helped develop the Freedom with Food program as well as collaborating with staff to create a healing environment for Skyterra’s guests.
My hope and mission is to continue to help individuals heal and recover from short-term or long-term battles with disordered eating and eating disorders. I live with my husband, daughter and two dogs.
Carl Ford is in training to become a certified therapy dog through Canine Good Citizens (CGC).
